– Prefabricated groove in grooved plywood chair – DWG drawings
Chair features:
– Easy to manufacture
– Few parts
– mounting groove parts in groove A
chair consists of only four parts. Back, two sides and a seat. All parts are assembled in a single assembly joining a groove to a groove. The final fit is the back of the seat part. If this knot is corrected (with a pin, self-tapping screw, etc.), then it will be impossible to accidentally dismantle the chair.
To make a chair, you will need a piece of plywood 1250 * 980 mm in size and up to 18 mm thick. Why “before”. According to the design, all edges of the plywood pieces are rounded with a radius of 6mm. The inner corners of the joint grooves are rounded to the same radius. I designed a chair in 3D with a plywood thickness of 18 mm (slot width – 19 mm). It must fit perfectly. At least, the thickness of the author’s material is generally 19 mm. But here you need to take into account that the inner corners of the splines will need to be finished manually at a right angle. Otherwise, the details will not fit.
If you don’t, it is quite possible that a chair with the same dimensions will be made of 16 mm or even 12 mm plywood.
The project is interesting, but I think it needs some work. I really don’t like the fit of the rear and the seat. And the fitting hole in this place didn’t match. I moved 2 mm back. Perhaps it was worthwhile to go a little further.
